Helping nationwide charities
After paying the unpaid staff, the Green Taverners focused on not only supporting the club and organisations surrounding the club but becoming a platform to help charities throughout the country.
This is where we introduced the Janner Song. The Janner song was launched as a charity single with an aim to get it into the top 40 charts, with proceeds going to the Chestnut Appeal.
Although the song never made the top 40, the song helped raise a massive amount for the charity as well as giving the Janner Song a platform to reach many more ears, as it became a fans fest staple. The song brought fans throughout the country together, raising awareness of the GTs themselves as well as the Chestnut Appeal.
The reason the awareness comes first in this case it that the charity needed money to help gain their reputation and to reach more people with their message.
