FanFest – What a great day

Thank you to everyone who attended the FanFest on Saturday, I think we can all agree it was a great day, and everyone seemed to enjoy the day.

We had over 175 people through the door with over 90 of those being non season ticket holders who hadn’t been to a game for a while.

We also had the raffle and charity auction, which with the ticket sales raised over £2,000.

We would like to say a special thanks to Dave and Rick for providing great entertainment and also Gary Rapson. Again Damon has come along to our event and helped out with the MC and I am sure we can all agree what a great job he has done.

We would also like to thank the Staff at Plymouth Argyle who without their help this event would have never been possible.

Watch out on here for when we are holding our next event, and don’t forget you can still join us on the Hartlepool trip http://www.greentaverners.co.uk/2011/02/hartlepool/

Green Taverners Fundraising Event

The first Green Taverners event was held last Friday (18th February) at Plymouth Argyle Football Club in the Argyle lounge. The evening was a great success with everybody having a fantastic time, and raising money for Green Taverners to help towards the cost of flying the players to Hartlepool.

The evening was compared by former Plymouth Argyle director Damon Lenzsner, and live entertainment was provided by Lauren Francis from Xfactor , Jed Stone and Gary Rapson.

A special guest appearance by Adam Sadler just topped the whole evening off, to hear someone talk with so much passion about the current situation was a credit to the football club.

The evening also had a charity auction and raffle draw which raise a combined £2,000 when added to the ticket receipts the evening raised over £3,000.

The event was also attended by a couple of Argyle players, Simon Walton and Anton Peterlin, who both enjoyed the evening and spent time speaking to the fans who were very interested to find out more about the team and also the condition of Simon’s injury. It was good news to hear he would be back in March! Both players were a credit to the football club! Since the evening Simon Walton has also been in contact to thank us for the invite and to say he would be willing to help at future events. It is a credit to the players that they want to offer their support to the Green Taverners. We are hopeful that more players will attend future events as we only really had one week to plan this event!

The evening continued with the live music until 12:00, with people chatting until the early hours of the morning and wondering where the evening had gone!

The Green Taverners would like to say thanks to Damon, all the entertainers and those people who donated prizes for the auction and raffle. We would also like to say thanks to the Chef, and bar staff who were excellent all night.

So all in all a great night was had by everyone, and we look forward to seeing some of you at our next event the “Fan Fest”, which is this Saturday the 26th February in The Pyramid Suite at Argyle – tickets just £6 for season tickets holders and £20 for non season ticket holders.
