Calling all Business’s in Plymouth

As you are aware from local press coverage, the staff at Plymouth Argyle FC have agreed to work for the club for no wages through March and April, and have not been paid since January.

The Green Taverners are a new organisation setup a few months ago by fans who want to try and support the staff and players through the hard times, we are buying equipment for the first team and also helping the staff with some money to pay their bills, and so far we have relied on the generosity of the fans to help, however we are now looking for the local business community to help out.

We are all aware that PAFC helps the local economy through the good times and would be a major loss to the city if it was to go, and anyone who has attended the club will know how hard the staff work.

We are therefore asking the local business community to support the staff and make a donation to the cause, this can be done through PayPal or you can email me on, to make payment by cheque or bacs.

All the money you donate will go to the Green Taverners, for staff and equipment for the team and is nothing to do with the Administration team, so every penny will go to the cause.

We really appreciate the support that the local community has given so far.

Thanks in advance

Rochdale Fanfest Thanks

Thank you to everyone who attended the FanFest on Saturday, I think we can all agree it was a great day, and everyone seemed to enjoy the day.

We had over 190 people through the door.

We also had the raffle and charity auction, which with the ticket sales raised over £2,000.

We would like to say a special thanks to Dave and Rick for providing great entertainment. Again Damon has come along to our event and helped out with the MC and I am sure we can all agree what a great job he has done.

We would also like to thank the Staff at Plymouth Argyle who without their help this event would have never been possible.

Watch out for the upcoming post about the Walsall Game, we strongly advise people buy tickets in advance for this as we are limited to 200 people and will be done on first come first served.

Dont forget you can join us at PAFC on Saturday for the England v Wales Game, more details here

Peter Reid’s FACup Medal

Due to popular demand Green Taverners have decided to setup a donation button towards a fund to attempt to buy Peter Reid’s FaCup Losing Medal. Thanks to coathypafc from Pasoti who has setup a facebook page for this also.

Peter Reid

I also spoke to Peter Reid on Friday night and he would like to go to auction and not agree a price prior to the auction, as he wants to raise as much as posible from the Auction of this Medal. We would return the medal to Peter Reid if the auction is won.

We will attempt to win this at auction for the fans, however if we are unsuccessful we will be taking the fans guidance on where they would like the money to go,
Should it go to:-
Green Taverners fund
Please vote when placing donation on comment box

It is really difficult to refund the money to people however we could do this for PayPal donations, to do this we would need people to notify us upon making the donation in the comments box on the PayPal page.

Please make sure you use this button below to Donate to the Peter Reid Medal Fund, as the one on right will go into Green Taverners normal Fundraising funds!
